White flowered lavender

Lou12Lou12 Posts: 1,149

I need a LOT of white lavender to go round my new front garden as hedging.

Does anyone know a good company where I can get this in bulk quite cheaply?

Many thanks

Lou

I would buy a couple of large plants and take loads of cuttings

it's the right time to do it now and is much the cheapest way.

That sounds great, thanks I'll go over and have a look.

I'd love to Dove but *thinks of excuse* can't think of excuse but would just rather buy them and put them in. Mainly because it's a front garden and I need it to look good as soon as possible.

Mind you the front garden has looked like hell for the past 10 years so possibly another year would not kill us but I just want to plant and go image

Hi Lou. Why not try a well known Auction site? There is a seller on there called cornwallplantaholicsltd and they have the Lavender Arctic Snow that Downderry are out of at the moment and the postage is about half the price of Downderry. I have bought many items from this seller and can vouch for both quality and service.

Make sure you dig some grit into the soil to get it really free-draining image

Fab, lots of great ideas there.

It's a raised bed and the front garden strangely is on a seam of chalk whereas the back garden is on heavy clay so we should be ok for lavender and dianthus Dove image

Lavender likes chalk and the clay - as Dove has already advised - should have plenty of grit dug in to improve drainage. This would suit the Dianthus too.

I'll be sure to do that thanks. I now need to win the lottery so that  can fill this bed - it's much bigger than I thought it would be. Bigger than the drive bit - I'm not sure I'll get the car on there.......who cares, there is unlimited road parking image

    I'd sooner have plants.
