Fluffy White Bugs on Leaves?

Am a complete novice in the garden and would appreciate some help pls - have just spotted these fluffy, white things on the underside of the leaves on my new Bay Trees and have no idea what they are. Any ideas?  And any tips on how to get rid of them?   Thanks in advance!

I think I would guess at woolly aphids too. Do as musher suggests and wipe them off and squish them.
