Plants identity

We visited the most gorgeous garden today with over 1,000 roses and many other interesting plants. Would anyone be able to help to identify some of the plants please?imageimageimageimageThe blue flower was growing in a pond.

Top one looks lik an Orchid. Second one is a Dahlia. Third one is Pontederia cordata or Pickerel Weed. The last one looks like Verbascum chiaxii but I'm not sure on that one.

  • That was quick Ladybird and thanks for sharing your knowledge - it surely was a stunning garden and I wouldn't mind having one or 1,000 of their plants if we only had room for them.  Not sure if I am supposed to do this, but just to give you a small view of the garden we visited I am enclosing the followingimageBut it was the car display in one of the fields that drew my husband along with me!

Oh my! What a beautiful garden. I wish I could get a fountain into my little pond but I'm sure my wildlife would feel as if they were in a spin drier! Still at least I can have the pleasure of seeing other people's pictures and I can visit lots of beautiful gardens too. Thank you so much for the picture GD. LIz x

p.s. I meant to ask where is the garden?

  • The top one is a Tigridia, not an orchid.

  • Ladybird and Alan thank you - it is good to be able to put names to plants - I have a few more to identify for another day. Yes, well that garden certainly was something to show off about and we came home with plenty of ideas!
