Hello all, I was hoping some of you may be able to identify a few plants for me?! I have done a lot of clearing work in our new garden and I have no idea what these ones are!

Number one is a Japanese anemone. Number two looks like a Hydrangea - and from the shape of the leaves it could be Hydrangea quercifolia - the oak-leaved hydrangea and number three is an Aster of some sort.

What lovely 'finds' in your garden image

Oh wow thanks guys!  Never knew a hydrangea could look like that!  Amazing, thanks once again!

I have two of those Hydrangeas - foliage is lovely. You should hopefully get good autumn colour on it Missy Krissy    image

Looks like you have Phalaris (Gardener's Garters) there around it - it can be invasive so you might want to keep an eye on that as it could spoil your view of the hydrangea, as well as competing for water and nutrients.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Oh goodie, will look forward to watching its leaves change colour too!

The Phalaris that you mentioned - Is that the variegated leafy plant behind it Fairygirl?
