ideas on what to plant

Hi all

We have a hedge along one ide of our driveway and there is a few feet of it that has a mature Ash tree and mature Holly tree and below the canopy there is room for planting but I am looking for any sparks of genius please as to what I could plant there bearing in mind that it is east facing and will be quite shaded for a good part of the day

I have attached a photo that may or may not help

Thanks and I look forward to any suggestionimage

Sounds as though you need plants for dry shade, such as Brunnera, Foxgloves, Geranium Macrorrhizum  and Phaeum, Dryopteris ferns, Euphorbia Robbiae, Epimedium.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Thank you Busy-Lizzie

A decent list so I will look into them further
