Taking leaves off tomato plants

I think I may have taken too many leaves off my tomato plants.   It is late July and I have seven plants on un heated greenhouse.  Quite a lot of flowers    Have I harmed the plants

I only remove the bottom leaves after the trusses are well formed and I have stopped the tomatoes at the top.

hi peter clegg     I allways take my bottom leaves of but only up to the bottom truss I do stop them at 4 5 6 trusses depending what they are  but when I do stop them if the leaves are stopping light or air getting to fruit take a few off the sides    but don't over do it    as you are unsure now don't take anymore of and se how it goes    Michael

It's almost impossible to take any leaves off hanging basket tomatoes without the tomatoes falling off.

I do the same as Michael. I only have one of those daft wee growhouses so it can get a bit congested, and the leaves stop good airflow as much as anything.

Once the fruits are all set, I actually take quite a lot of the foliage off and it doesn't cause any problems, as they are then virtually redundant, but it's probably best to take some off just now, and then play it by ear according to the conditions you have. image
