Wrong Jasmine?

Hi all,

I bought a jasmine in the autumn and I have it on a pot in my balcony. I ordered it as Jasminum officianale, and I was expecting it to twine through the balustrades and climb a bit, but it is not doing so at all, just behaving like a shrub.

Is it the wrong kind of jasmine, or am I just being impatient? It's perfectly healthy and flowering well.

I did take a couple of picture:

Thank you!

If I remember correctly, it will put on new growth after flowering - the new growth will climb and twine etc.  It's going to look very pretty image

What a lovely, scented screen it will make too!

  • I have the same issue, but with a Jasmine Beesanium, loads of new growth this year, but just wants to spread out, and will only stay put if you tie itimage

Thank you all. I'll see if it changes its habit after flowering then!
