Is Buddleia Davidii Pink Invasive?
Hi, I bought couple of bushes/shrubs (below) for my front garden. Today I read an article in BBC that state Buddleja Davidii is dominating Britain Railways (I have seen them on my way to work) - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-28196221
I am wondering if I should remove them.
Yellow - Forsythia intermedia Spectabilis
Red - Weigela Bristol Ruby
White - Spirea Arguta Bridal Wreath
Blue - Ceanothus Yankee Point
Pink - Buddleja davidii Pink
Thanks

I wouldn't be at all worried about growing those - deadhead the buddleja regularly as the flowers die off to encourage more flowers to form and prevent the seeds which will blow around a bit - but really nothing to get stressed about.
Enjoy your plants - that's a nice colourful selection.

It's the seeds which are tiny and get blown a long way in the wind which make it invasive. If you dead-head them as soon as the flowers fade you will prolong the flowering season and prevent the seeds from becoming a nuisance. Keep it and enjoy it.
Snap, Dove.
Great minds Bob

Thank you. I was worried ever since I read the article. Not any more.
