Cuttings from Hebe

A number of times I see comments as to how easy it is to root Hebe cuttings.
I have a fairly large Hebe bush currently loaded with lilac flowers now turning white. It has small leaves and at the moment would be difficult to find a stem withou a flower.
Have tried cuttings before but with total failure.
any help/tips would be gratefully received.
I don't have a green house but have cold frames if that helps.
