What is this?

Hello all,

I was just wondering if anyone could identify this plant for me? Is it a weed of any sort?

I have lived in this house for 15 years now and it has just appeared this summer for the first time.

Any help is appreciated.

    Be careful with this plant as it is highly toxic - especially the seeds, though much loved by birds

    Many thanks for your enlightening answers - still at a loss as to hiw it came to grow in our garden!!
