Help me save my Heucheras please!
Just wondering if anyone could help?
My heucheras were looking very healthy a week ago but in the last couple of days I've noticed them looking really poorly and I don't know what's going wrong with them.
it started in one of them and now they all seem to have the same problem. Could anyone tell me what it is and if I can solve the problem somehow?!

Agree that it could be vine weevils, About 6 wks ago one of my Dad's heucheras was looking very sad and after removing it from its pot grubs were found, so I put it to soak in a bowl of water for a couple of hrs. Afterwards I split it into 6 smaller plants and washed each one very carefully and still found a few grubs in some hollowed out pieces of root, We now have 6 very healthy ( and rapidly growing) plants, so it's really worth taking time to clean the roots well.

Agree with all above, we spoke to a specialist grower, either at Chelsea or Hampton Court Flower Shows, and were told the darker the leaves the more sun they would tolerate. I lost quite a few last year, that were in the ground, told most likely the wet conditions.
Up until yesterday I had a beautiful purple Heurchera. I was watering my garden yesterday evening and noticed my purple heurchera didn't looked right. I lifted the plant up and it came away in my hand. I found quite a lot of white coloured grubs in the pot. It was such a shame as it looked so lovely. I decided to split the Heuchera up (about 6 small ones) and I hosed them down and cut all the dead parts off and repotted them in new pots and new compost. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening as I have about 10 different Heucheras?
Vine wevils, they love heucheras.
They tend to 'pull' themselves out of the ground Ian, but if you you lift and re plant a bit deeper, that usually solves the problem. They're certainly more prone to weevils in pots, but less so in the ground. The one good thing about them is that they grow very readily from little pieces pulled off a plant. Most of mine have come from little bits which have seeded into cracks in walls and paving where I work.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
