HELP NEEDED WITH CLEMATIS

Hi can anyone ID this clematis, what group? pruning advise.

It flowered May through June. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'd say that is "The President" and is an early large-flowered type.  Group 2 for pruning which means light pruning in late February.  Start right at the end tip of each stem and follow it down until you find a pair of healthy looking buds and snip the stem off just above them.

    Thank you very much for the reply Bob, this is the first clematis I have seen with 8 petals. So didn't have a clue.

    But pleased to think I have the president as I have heard a lot about them.

    Thank you now I know how to prune it I can give it a bit of TLC.
