Veg bed cover
in Fruit & veg
Hi everybody, as you can see my veg cover is worse for wear, the plastic has split and the Zips are forever getting stuck.
i have tried the usual garden suppliers on line but they don't stock this type anymore. The nearest is a micro net cover with elastic around the bottom, this seems like hard work accessing the bed without having to expose most of the veg each time.
Has anyone got one of these nets only ones and how useable are they? Has anyone made a cover themselves, maybe this is an option.
i have a 6x6 raised bed and two half hoops but no alternative cover, I would appreciate any suggestion.

Hi passionate
Look at my picture which shows my temporary netting hoops which can be made easily with not a huge cost.
i have four of them all the same size approx 9ft x 3ft and move them around the garden when I protection
I made them from 1" poly tube, scaffold netting and timber 2" x 1" and a stapler for fixing the net
They are really durable light weight and portable to move any where
they can be made to any size for handling and getting access to your crops
happy gardening and good luck
hi Chris172
thanks very much, your patch looks well organised, I can see how portable your covers/tunnels are.
Although I only grow veg in a 6x6 bed your tunnels have given me encouragement to think about making my own cover.
I will get busy with the help of my hubby and design my own cover.
thanks a lot.?
