Hi, would anyone happen to know what this flower is? It's growing in a container in India.

Looks like a white epiphyllum. I cant see the leaves. Are they strappy fleshy things?

I agree with fb. It could be Epiphyllum oxypetalum, the night flowering Cereus. Was it night time when you took the picture?

Thanks Ladybird, thanks Fidgetbones. Your knowledge is astounding. I did not see this flower in person, somebody in India sent me the picture and I was curious to know what it is. I asked them, but they did not know the name. From the photo it definitely looks like nighttime to me, so I think it is the flower that you have said.  looked it up on google, and it looks exactly the same. I'm trying to find out more details about what time of day it was when the picture was taken. Are such plants available to buy in the UK?

Is it true that this flower only opens for one night in the whole year? I really need to find out more details for the person that took this photo.

Thanks Ladybird. I need to try and get one.

Apparently there is widespread debate about this plant. If you look at the Wikipedia article on Brahma Kamala plant, it comes up with Saussurea obvallata. It is an interesting article - particularly the section on confusion about the plant.

Thank you ladybird. I try to access this article, but could only read it for a few seconds before the script started bugging. It just crashed my browser.
