Disposing of old bone meal

Hi, I've just started a grand project of trying to reclaim my back garden, and already coming across some problems.

Having had no experience in gardening, I thought this would be the best place to seek assistance. image

I've came across a big plastic container of bone meal from few years ago. Having opened it (big mistake. image), the whole stuff was turned into a thick nauseous slush.

Would there be any ways to dispose of this? Somehow I feel it would be a bit off to simply chuck it into the bin...

Many thanks in advance.

mix it well into the compost bin., a bit on each layer.

  • Thanks, fidgetbones.

Sadly, I do not have a compost bin... Is there anyway that I can simply dispose of it? image

Flush it a bit at a time, then start afresh....

  • Just keep it well away from any dogs! They may try to eat it and it could well be lethal...

    No, don't flush it ......image

Why not ?? If it is smelly and offensive why not flush it away.. Do you think it will reconstitute into a large Alligator ..image

I would take it to the dump and ask them what to do. However, I strongly recommend starting a compost heap if you are going to do some reclamation work on the garden. You don't have to buy a bin, just choose an area in an out of the way place and use something to build sides - old pallets are great for this sort of thing. As you clear and tidy and mow you can make what will be invaluable for improving the soil.
