This plant is growing in my friends' pond.Is it something I could put in my own pond or is it invasive at all?

The larger leafed plant is water mint.

Done some Googling and I think it is New Zealand Pygmy Weed and is invasive so probably not one for my pond!!!

crassula, nasty, nasty stuff and a nightmare to get rid of, classed as a hazardous weed due to its invasiveness!

I would advise your friend removed it, double bags it and bins it, DO NOT compost as it just infests your compost bin.

It is a wildlife pond and has lots of things living in it.

I helped clean it out in the spring of 2009 and I can't remember it being there then.Don't know how it got there probably with other weed but nothing has been done to the pond in 7 years.

If I help clean it again I will make sure it is got rid of safely!
