    Mine are planted with other perennials - echinops, achillea The Pearl, geums, rudbeckias.   I have to support the echinops as they are tall and get blown about but the other stuff only falls over it we have gales.

    Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

  • That must make a lovely display obelixx - do you have any pictures please? I also grow geums & rudbeckias but am not familiar with your other choices.

  • Looks more natural that way holliehock.  We have made some of Monty's supports for our taller plants, but they don't look great - I also use bamboo canes & twine but that can look pretty awful too, however it is a shame to let a plant completely flop as they often do in our wind blown garden.
