ok, only mid July but like it or not autumn is only a few weeks away.  A few weeks away from the dreaded cranefly image

in second half of August order nematodes to prevent leatherjackets destroying your lawn.

I need to do this. Crows have already started on it front lawn. It happens every year and I haven't yet tried nematodes. Thanks for the reminder and do nematodes work?

  • Oooh yes, Actually I enjoyed watching this for the first time last year. After a while some of them started eating eachother. Fascinating

I treated my lawn with some concoction when I found them over 30 years ago and it worked.. the biggest problem I had was identifying them.. they are about 2cm long and sort of beige colour.

It's okay, I don't really want to find them and look at them! I just want to rid them from the lawn. Will order the nematodes for August then. Thanks for the advice. One thing though - if crows havestartd eating them, should I still wait before adding the nematodes?
