Lava around the base of laurels

I've recently placed chicken manure around the base of some struggling laurels bushes, but just noticed it is now riddled with lava! Will it eventually migrate and eat the roots ?

when I saw lava I thought the red, very hot kind! lol

most likely maggots from flies, once the chicken manure pellets get wet they turn back into normal manure, so flies lay their eggs on it. no harm to the plants and bonus for hungry birds at this time of the year!
