Lavender bushes
in Plants
We have about a dozen Lavender bushes which we planted 3 years ago to form a hedge around a rockery that was getting attacked by Rabbits!! The hedge has now grown too big and needs to be moved if possible to a new location. Do we trim the hedge before attempting to move and when is the best time to do this job? Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

I'd move them after flowering. Trim them then move. Plants always grow extra roots after flowering so that would be the ideal time.
make sure you don't cut into brown wood, lavenders don't like re-growing from a bad haircut. water well before digging up, keep as big of a root ball as possible and replant as soon as you can.
Thankyou to Dave Morgan and treehugger80 for your advise, I will report on success(or otherwise) later.
