Confused strawberries

This is my first year growing strawberries. My early variety turned out completely normal but my latemail variety or just weird. They look half like strawberries and half like it wants to be a new stem/leaf/plant.
Is there a reason or cure for this?

Could be any reason or none. Not sure there is a cure but they may well grow normally next year.

It's good to know that it's not something I've done nothing wrong and hopefully next year will be better.
