Cosmos problems
in Plants
I started my seeds too late, I think, and after not pinching out enough in previous years, think I have now over pinched! My plants are now individually potted in the greenhouse but although they look good, there are no signs of flowers developing. At this rate I can't see them flowering until the autumn. Any ideas?

Try giving them some tomato food if you're not doing so already, and they really should be outside by now, spreading their roots. If last year's winter is anything to go by, you have plenty of time yet.
Thanks very much. I was waiting to see what colours they were, but I can see that getting them outside is more important! Thanks again.
I sow cosmos late and pinch back several times to get bushy, later flowering plants. My garden needs some useful plants like cosmos from late July until early Sept so that's when I aim for the very best flowers.
Mine have only just (Friday) been put in their flowering positions & one or two have no buds yet. They'll be fine. They have been outside in the nursery bed since May though.
With lots of deadheadng and some further judicious pruning they should be sturdy pants covered in flowers for months. Had flowers through till Nov last year
