Blueberries
in Fruit & veg
I have two blueberries bushes which stand next to each other in teapots. Both plants seemed to be doing really well up until lately. One of the bushes is full of blueberries and putting on lots of new growth. The other sadly I do not know what's gone wrong. The leaves are turning brown and crumbly and the blueberries almost look like currants. I'm really shocked both plant looked very well. Anybody any ideas please.

Why are they in teapots? They need to be in the ground or large containers.
I had mine in a large container in ericaceous compost and poof, turned brown and died. I thought I heard that they are bog plants, do they like to be moist? If so, think that's what did it for mine!
They need ericaceous but free draining compost Cloggie. Some ericaceous composts are much too heavy and the roots will rot over the winter in those (this happened to a couple of mine when I used a different brand of compost.) I ended up mixing the heavy stuff with composted bark chips and the ones planted in that mixture are doing really well. While you should never let them dry out completely, waterlogging will kill them just as surely as it will most plants.
More information is needed in terms of the variety...and... how big are your teapots!...I'm happy to be wrong but growing a plant in a teapot is going to present challenges when potting up, do you have pictures...
Deffo not overwatered for me but drift ... ? They are next to a farmers field so I have been suspecting drift.
or too much sun if they are woodland plants.
Learning point made, move on.
Thanks all.
They are NOT in teapots. Sorry should have checked what I typed or what the laptop decided to print. They are in a large pot each and in erriccasious soil. I have recently feed them with wilcos own veg/plant food. Also I sprayed a nearby rose for black spot which seems to have killed a patch of grass. The rose was also in a large pot. I bought both plants earlier this year. Will the affected plant recover.
