What would you plant here?

I'm looking for a climbing plant.

Sorry for the poor quality photo, I took it from an upstairs window in bad light.

Anyway, the fence on the left is South facing, fence on the right is West facing. The soil is clay, it's quite poor quality as we live in a new build and therefore there's a fair bit of rubble and stone mixed into it. I can improve the soil with compost if need be.  There is a Falstaff rose planted on the left, and a Rhododendron in the corner.

I can't attach trellis to the wall as it is part of our neighbours house but I'd be willing to attach it to the fences.

I'm looking for something very scented, flowering in summer (not Spring) that hopefully is fast growing. I would really like Jasmine but not sure if it would survive winter?  We are in East Yorkshire.

Thanks

Thanks Verdun, do you think Jasmine would survive the winter? It seems to be frost hardy, but I wouldn't be able to move it indoors if it were planted in the ground.

All the above, plus climbing roses, so many to choose from, they love clay.

Have just purchased a star jasmine and planted it in there along with a trellis to help it climb the fence. Although the fence is on a bit of a slope so the trellis looks wonky!

    It smells delicious image

Will look a bit better when it's bigger but here it is.

Thankyou all for your ideas and advice image
