INCOMPETENT GARDNER NEEDS HELP!

Can anyone please tell me what this is likely to be? My son is currently at the end of our mature garden attempting to get rid of lots of mature Bindweed which is all around our lilac trees. He has just brought this in, said there is lots of it mixed up with the lilacs and Bindweed and asked whether it is a weed, a fruit, and should he get rid of it.
We have absolutely no idea - please help. Thank you.

It looks very much like a grape vine to me with immature bunches of grapes on it.
Thank you for your help. Im grateful. Now we know what it is, and not poisonous we will look after it.
