Can anyone help me with my Hawthorn hedge problem?

    Thanks again for all your help, you've all been great image

    Yeah, it is a bit of a mess up there at the moment Fairygirl, we had loads of stuff piled up there for about a year (before we planted the hedges) so the ground up there is taking a bit of a while to go back to normal.

    That sounds like a great idea to add some compost around them, I think I shall do that today!

    Big specimens will always be harder to get established , as has been said. I know it seems the ideal solution when you want privacy quickly, but smaller plants get away quicker, and will soon catch up. 

    Hawthorn's very forgiving though, so I'm sure they'll be fine  image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
