I think anyone new to gardening, would just think you really can have an "instant" garden. Its VERY warm here said its going to reach 27d and tomorrow. OH came home from work yesterday asked if we had had rain, (he works 40 miles away) no, sunny but windy, not much wind today. Only gardening, I have done is walk the plot, wondering what to do first!
I couldn't be happier for you Verdun I'm afraid summer here has been a cross between equatorial monsoon and tornado. I imagine that has made any 'instant' gardens difficult in the SE, but its still no excuse!

June was nice here hogweed. Unusually dry spring too, so that counts as a brilliant season for west of Scotland ....
You do realise Verd that we're all going to come down there and give you a beating though, don't you?
I'll hold him down girls.....
Might take two of us though - he's been eating a lot of doughnuts...
The issue with any of these programmes is that the people involved (ie the presenters and construction team) aren't just sitting around twiddling their thumbs and doing nothing else. Continuity will always be a problem for this type of show.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I love Cornwall Verdun, family in N Devon, lovely stuff grows (weird red soil got me at first ) despite salt breezes. I love Scotland, family nr Glasgow, beautiful countryside, fantastic wildlife although Inverleithen golf course took us by surprise! I agree advice is relevant to the area, no quarrels with any of that but changing the seasons back and forth? Whats that all about? I have enough to do keeping up with linear seasons.............................Wouldn't you rather see the gardens done and then developing?

Summer? What summer? We had a week end May/beg June and then it went! I doubt if I have had my cardigan off since then!

Oooh - your post wasn't there Verd....
Of course, I was only joking and you've always been my favourite....
Would you like a doughnut or three?

You'll need extra clothing for up here Verd. Plenty of fleece....
Joking apart, we have a very diverse little country in terms of climate. A different challenge no matter where your plot is
