To the border eh Verd? It's ok - we'll let you in....you can pay in doughnuts. I'll see you right.... image

As I said herbaceous -  it's not that simple with making these programmes. There's twenty episodes and that doesn't take just twenty days to make. The presenters do have other commitments after all - I think the Rich brothers would be struggling to make a living as designers if they only did that programme!

I can't really see what difference it makes in the grand scheme of things  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Completely get the whole time scale thing Fairygirl and I have been watching the programmes (having seen comments on this forum) and the few I have seen have been interesting. Maybe its just my simplistic view of the world, I can cope with fiction being odd but reality TV, well, I suppose I feel it should be real. Not going to happen though is it?  image I'm just doomed to constant disappointment image

Strong regional accent would be my guess.

  • I love a regional accent. I have one!

I've just never heard her say it like that before. Maybe I've just never heard her say lilac before...

I have to say, I've watched every program. I don't have TV and just watch iPlayer if there is something that interests me.

I watch it for ideas more than to critique technique. I've really enjoyed it as I'm not looking for TV tricks etc. I can't stand sob stories..." We are doing this garden cuz so and so's life's been really hard and a garden would cheer them up....blub " refreshing not to have that sentimental twoddle! Can't stand Titchmarsh and his its all about me style, stopped watching after the first show.

The format can't really be helped, the audience wants to see a difference between the before and after shots! So on the whole, I'm going to miss this show. I do hope they do another series. I liked the instant gardener but think with a bigger budget Danny could have had a bit more scope to showcase his talent.

Good to see Charlie back and the Rich brothers make a good presenting team.....final verdict... Success! More please! image

  • I'd love to see a revisit show in a year or two to see how things grow in, as well as more shows cos I think they have a good chemistry between Charlie and the two guys.

That's a nice idea Steve, a revisit to see how the gardens have settled. image it could help viewers manage their expectations, how quickly/ slowly a meadow lawn takes to look prettier than shabby turf image love the idea, just wouldn't mind seeing the eventual effect, not in an "instant" just next series perhaps image

Agree with Wonky. Alan Titchmarch, much as I normally like him, is just over the top with "Love your Garden". I like Charlie's down to earth presenting style. Missed some recently with family staying, looking forward to catching up with i player in Norfolk when we go.

I would like to see the gardens a year later, too.

How else do you pronounce Geum? I thought it was Geeum and I don't have a regional accent.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
