Moss removel from driveway

HI Folks.

I have a pressed concrete driveway, and in the shady parts its slowly gone green with a mossy like covering. I have attached photos to help understand what I mean.

Any suggestions on the best way to remove this, without harming the driveway. It is coloured, so  I dont want to use a bleach like I normaly would on basic paving.image

    PRESSURE WASHER?

I have a pressure washer, and will use. I mean what sort of cleaning agent would be best, something to scrub the green mossy susbstance with first, then pressure wash it away.

As it's pressed concrete, a pressure washer is fine, I wouldn't use it on a block paved drive.

Usually you don't need any detergent. The problem is that "you always put too much" in the washer and you get foam everywhere. I use one on our concrete drive and our York stone patio and path. I find using it  quite therapeutic for the first half hour and then it becomes  increasingly a bit of a chore.

When you've finished, don't stop at admiring it. Check the walls of your house as there's always muck that gets bounced up on to them which you have to spray to remove.

I use diluted Jeyes Fluid in a watering can for killing off the moss on our block paving. Leave it until the moss withers, then just brush it off. Works a treat.

You're right there, Doghouse, that when you pressure wash your walls (and clothes) can get a fair amount of splatter!

I noticed that Monty brushes in some sand onto steps/paths to scour off debris and make a bit of grip. I did this on my steps and it works quite well but for a shaded area which has a layer of green then power wash is probably best. I have a circular brush attachment on my washer which is fab for larger areas - even gets the dark green and black off. The colour of the water is unbelievable!

Meant to say - hardly needs much detergent - maybe a bit of washing up liquid.

I'm afraid the best detergent is elbow grease. The pressure washer will help but for best results it's  a hands and knees job with a hard scrubbing brush.

We always used Algon on our decking at our last house.  It's organic and is supposed to work on concrete and stone too.  It always worked well for us.

We have the same issue with moss but on tarmac in the shady area of the front driveway. Has anyone found a solution to this please? Tarmac is a bugger to keep clean of moss as well as sweeping up. I have tried using a weed torch and a pressure washer but no joy.

I find white vinegar kills it and then I scrub and wash it away.
