We had masses one day almost ripe, next day, pretty much scoffed, OH lifted up the straw and showed me a zillillion slugs underneath, I didnt thing they would want to climb over prickly straw, the bed is also surrounded by gravel, so thats my best guess.
wasn't sure if it was slugs, i couldn't see any trails or evidence of them. i've been out late at night with a torch but never seen any on there.
whatever it is likes to start at the top at the stem and then work downwards... it's always the same!
i need to catch whatever it is!
Birds? most of our fruit, raspberries, the last strawberries, and blueberries are netted.
oh, should have said... they're in a greenhouse so not birds!
