When can I move box hedge?

We have an established box hedge which runs around one of the flower beds in our garden.  The beds are just too much work so I was going to have a go at selling the box on eBay (on the condition that the buyer digs it up!).

When would be the best time to move it?

Late Autumn would be the best time.

  • Thanks Ladybird, I did find that on another site as well.  Feel a bit mean digging it up but it takes up quite a bit of our garden and hopefully someone else will get the benefit!

I wouldn't go too late, evergreens are generally best moved when they can grow and get established, spring or early autumn.

  • Thanks Nutcutlet.  I think I will list at the beginning of September then it's up to the buyer when they come and dig them up.
