Salvia's

Has anyone grown salvias in dry shade ,

I'm looking at trying some under a holly tree .the lower branches have been cut so  space wise ,I've about four ft height  .it's shady and dry .

I've loads of small salvia plants , has anyone tried and had any good results please ?

Thanks for any advice.

I have a salvia 'Hotlips' growing near my Camellia and its doing ok but I would like to give it a little more light so am going to take some cuttings soon.

Salvias are supposed to like full sun but I have some 'wild' in dry, semi-shade and they look good.

I did try to add some to a border this year but they were 'slugged' in two days image
