What's wrong with my new clematis?

Hello,I recently bought this clematis home from Chelsea flower show.
It's called Bourbon and is supposed to produce flowers from late spring to late summer.
After the first few flowers that were on it died away it has not created any new flowers and the leaves aren't looking very healthy…
Does anybody have any ideas what's wrong with it?
Thanks imageimageimage

It's not a clematis I know, but this says that it flowers in May and June, so it's probably done it's bit for this year

The leaves are fine. Clematis get that colouration naturally. I suspect, as Dove says, it's all done for this year.

Have a read up on it's cultivation, pruning and so on to make sure it's all set for a great display next year.

As it's a Group 2, as indicated in Dove's link, you may get second flush of flowers later. That's what it means when it says flowering from spring to late summer. It can be a bit misleading though.

Group 2s don't really need pruning - just a tidy up if necessary. You'll probably find it will bloom a lot more next year as it matures, assuming it has the  right care image

Oh!! Thanks! Im so glad to know the leaves are ok!

And yes I think the info from the tag is misleading but I'll look forward to the possibility it may flower again later in the year...

    Thanks so much everyone!

They're very addictive plants Eve - and there are so many varieties!  image

Not sure how well they flower for the second time in pots. I only grow clematis in the ground except if it's a young plant being grown on.

We have a resident clematis expert on the forum who runs a nursery. I'm sure he'll be able to give you advice on that if he's around. image
