Shrub identity please

scented rose says:

Please can anyone help identify this shrub. When we moved house 2 years ago it was about 18" high and was in the middle of an over crowded garden, full of overgrown shrubs and trees, I think it may have been a self seeder.

I moved it to a space in the front garden.Just now it has clusters of small green berries that are turning to dark blue/black and seem to be popular with blackbirds.

it's a Daphne, hard to say which one without seeing it in flower, but a winter flowering one to have berries at this time. Possibly Daphne laureola

    In the sticks near Peterborough
  • Thanks for your reply, it has a very insignificant creamy white flower prior to the berries forming from them.
