Drooping Perovskia
in Plants
Hi all,
I have some Perovskia in the school wildlife garden and I was wondering if anyone has any advice about getting it to grow upright as a lot of ours are drooping.
Thanks,
Justin.

Assuming its not drooping from lack of water (unlikely) but rather flopping everywhere, you can try giving it the "Chelsea Chop" in May. Cut it back by half and the resulting plant will be shorter and stockier, so hopefully won't flop everywhere. Too late for that this year though. Other than that, you'll have to try supporting sticks etc.
Perovskia plants tend to droop, especially if not planted in an open space with full sunlight available at all times of day. That's one reason why I stopped growing them in my mixed borders, although I liked their colour very much.
@Justin, what is the situation of your Perovskias re space and sun?
