    I beat my target by 29 mostly thanks to having a scope this year and a lot of luck. If we'd hadn't missed out on a coast trip in the spring it would have been higher again.
    How did you get on?

    Double win today. We went to a new nature reserve where I got a life tick bird (Black Necked Grebe) and my son got a life tick Eiffel Tower. Plus we saw the sun which is probably the biggest rarity we could hope for. One week in and my bird year list is already at 80 species with 3 lifers ticked off.
