Multiple corn? Need thinning?

Hi everyone,

This year, I planted sweetcorn seeds directly into the ground (two seeds in each hole).

Once they appeared, I chopped off the weaker of the two plants. However, it now appears the plants are splitting? Do they need to be cut again, or do I just leave them? I am really confused to be honest.

These look lovely Jordan, don't worry, mine last year had side shoots too.  You get a honking great lovely corn at the top and some sub corns alongside which may or may not mature within the season given.

Sowing into the soil. Alternatively, if you forgot to grow plants earlier, you can still grow corn by planting seeds directly into the soil in late spring and early summer.
