How do you get rid of rabbits chewing your plants?  I have geraniums, roses, lupins and they tend to chew my lupins

They'll have  a go at eating most things I'm afraid. Unless you can put in a physical barrier right round the garden, burying it to about 18" (45cm) they'll find a way in.

Shrubs tend to be a better bet than perennials because they chomp the new, soft emerging foliage and the plants struggle to recover. Your only solution is to make mesh guards to go round each plant (high enough that they can't still reach the foliage ) or plant known rabbit proof plants. I can personally vouch for daffodils, snowdrops, Potentillas, Alchemilla, Loosestrife, Berberis, Juniper , Heathers and Rhododendrons. There will also be years when the problem will be less - fewer bunnies. image

If you start a separate thread asking for more suggestions, you'll get  more. Many people on the forum have had this issue at some point!

Also, you could try doing a search here for more suggestions. There's a search facility at the top of the page image

    Hi there Fairygirl,

Thank you for your help I will try a fence a good thing to do.  I will also look at the top of the page and the facility section.  They are good ideas.  Thank you once again.  Very kind of you.  Clattnow
