imageHi I've recently moved into new house and this is part of the back gar and I'd like advice on what to do with the strip of garden at fence. It's raised up and covered with a strip of fake grass at moment. I'd like to replace the fence with a nice hedge but don't know Where to begin, advice requested please ...

Hi Graham. I think I would take down the fence first to see exactly how much room it then releases to your plot but this does rather depend on what is on the other side of the fence. Which way does the fence face? You have a large hedge on the other side of the garden which looks to be an evergreen boundary so I would think about a mixed hedge for flowers and leaf colour interest all year around. There are plenty to choose from but knowing about the fence removal first will govern some of your choices.

That fence is boundary to a field, it keeps the sheep in the field and out of yard. I'd thought to place leylandi in and make a new fence and eventually take the wooden one down. I'd like a rockery up top of yard as its quite ugly at moment
