Grass suppressors

I saw a recent post today and after following a link on it I came across the term 'Grass Suppressors'. I have a wild area - full of flowers - and I would like to get rid of most of the grass. I do have yellow rattle there but wondered if anyone on here could advise about the grass suppressors mentioned. I remove lots of grass each year by hand but am happy to look for an easy fix! image

There are chemicals with long names that suppress plant growth but I imagine they suppress all plants not just grass. Green-keepers put it where there is only grass growing.

Gardening is a relentless process of removing what you don't want and encouraging that which you do want. The yellow rattle would die if you got rid of all the grass.

Raining again so won't be removing that which I don't want todayimage
