Looks like one of the Persicaria tribe to me.
I agree with Berghill. One of the many types of Persicaria.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I think it may be Persicaris amplexicaulis Alba.
Try Persicaria Maculosa. Common name "Lady's thumb" (from the mark on the leaf).
