Tomatoe plant broke

in Fruit & veg
I cant make my mind up what to do with my tomatoe plant. It broke but not a clean break. should I leave it to and hope it doesn't break totally or cut my loss now and cut it off?

Iagree it is stuffed you could take the broken bit off and see if it recovers to give you a few tomatoes.
The edit features not working same as yesterday..
Yes - cut it off - you'll probably still get other side shoots which you can utilise . I've done it before when I've needed to keep plants smaller
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Agree with Fg. Cut the broken bit off completely.
If you've missed removing a side shoot somewhere (hopefully near the top of the plant) then let the new shoot become the new leader and you should be ok.
If there are no side shoots to take over, the plant will still be fine (tho short) and any trusses that are forming should be fine too.
Best of luck!

Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit.
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
Sellotape is really useful to bind a break up. So long as water and nutrients can pass up the stem it will survive.
