Pruning confuzzlement

Hi all, I've realised I have forgotten to prune a few of the early flowering shrubs... is it too late to prune a physocarpus dart's gold (See pic)? Thanks for the help, think I will go ahead and get the physocarpus pruned. As for the rhodi I have nothing to lose so might chop that also!
