Am I growing and tending to weeds?

I sowed some wildflower seeds in a little area but I'm not sure if they are flowers or just weeds and what actually is the difference when growing wildflower. Anyhow I've hopfully attached a picture you can see. This was growing taller than me!!! That was, until the rain and wind bend and broke the top half. Lots of it growing together which makes me wonder if it's a weed?
