Hi C3k. It is not unusual for further flowers to appear as late as early July so I would say it is not common but quite normal behaviour for some trees.

In my experience it usually means the tree is under stress.
I have had the same thing happen to my crab apple tree and I reckon it is as confused about the weather as I am.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
