Appeared under wildflowers

i inherited a wildflower bed - it grew from topsoil that I bought for a raised bed. The bad weather has spoiled the wildflowers - poppies, mallow etc and I had to cut them back today as they were going mouldy from the rain and warm weather. I was careful in my pruning as I have heathers growing in the bed for winter and I still have some alliums - the seed heads are almost as pretty as the flowers themselves. Anyway...i found a plant that looks like a rose bush but has no thorns. any idea what it could be? Thank you!

Thanks! It does rosemumny. I had to rid my garden of my other 2 rose bushes with thorns as the dog kept getting injured. My garden has rewarded me with so many beautiful surprises, 2 clematis plants grew out of nowhere too!

It looks like a rose to me too. The are varieties of thornless roses. The one that immediately springs to mind is one called Zephirine Drouhin. There are quite a lot more of thornless or nearly thornless roses which you can research. Treasure it and see what further reward you find with this one.

Great find...looks as if it could do with a spot of lunch! Give it a wee feed and look forward to the rewards. image
