Primula denticulata mixed

I found this sad looking plant in the casualty corner of the GC today - 99p. The label shows a picture of an array of coloured flowers. I assume this poor plant has done it's flowering for this year.  I have watered it well butimage when should I plant it in the flower bed?

It looks quite big enough to be planted into the flower bed now. That is what I would do. Make sure its moist and shade from hot sun until established.

Just as Ladybird says. They're pretty tough plants. I often hack them back after flowering (if I remember image)  and they produce  new foliage which is a bit neater and tidier.

If you get lots of wet weather, it can make the foliage big and blousy and dead leaves can be slimy, so giving them a haircut keeps them relatively well behaved in a border, and prevents them shading out other, more delicate, specimens. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thanks Ladybird & Fairygirl for the advice - yes you are right aym.  I am looking forward to it flowering - will try to plant it out in the bed in next few days.
