potatoes

I planted my potatoes in bags at the end of May. Earthed them up till it reached the top and waited with great expectationsimage.

However despite my best efforts the slugs have eaten nearly all the leaves! Will they still flower? If they don't when do you think I should dig them up? Help needed here!

    Carol, as the slugs have eaten lots of leaves the crop might be reduced so I would leave them in until tha haulms (stems) start going yellow and dying back.  No point leaving them in longer than that as they have grown as much as they will at that point.

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
