Making your own rooting powder
Hello all,
I am wondering if it is at all possible to make your own rooting powder? I love making my own potions and powders so if it is at all possible I would rather do that than buy stuff.
Any top tips?!

Hi Missy Krissy. You don't have to make it. I use soluble Vitamin C tablets (cheap as chips from Tesco) after hearing about it from the Northern gardener Christine???? whose last name escapes me and I have also seen - and again I cannot remember where - how custard powder can be very effective. I haven't tried this one myself yet but the item showed results both with and without the custard powder and the results were very impressive.
A lot of people don't think rooting powder makes any difference.
Monty Don has said that he stopped using it a few years ago, and saw no differences in his success rates.

Excellent thank you Ladybird, Punkdoc and Hollie Hock. My dogs have accidentally broken stems of a few plants so I thought I'd used the opportunity to try and make more plants - I have enough to try all three methods... Luckily we have eau natural aloe and the vit c already - bonus!! I shall also try the Monty method, I just need potting compost and grit for that right?
I saw that too Aym, willow also mxed with organic honey to make a tea, and bonus you can drink the remaining liquid!! Totally loooooove stuff like that alas we don't have willow near us either!
Awesome Hollie Hock!
