Damaged roots while re-potting

Hello,

We have just repotted our eucalyptus tree (it is young, about 7ft tall but still spindly) we wanted to put it in a bigger pot to give it more stability and space.

While doing so though we accidentally damaged and actually removed a large amount of the root system. The tree has been in the new pot for a few days now and isn't looking very happy. Quite droopy.

Is there anything I can do to try and help it recover or have I killed it?

Thanks

Eucalypts will regrow from the base if you cut them right back. It might be worth trying.

I would leave it a little longer as it has only been a few days. Keep it watered and see if there is any improvement but nutcutlet has the best idea if that doesn't work out.
